About Me

My name is Kaitlyn Martinez, and I am the face behind Bump & Bloom. I am a certified Doula through DONA International! I grew up in Houston, Texas (go 'stros!), where I met the love of my life. We are high school sweethearts and got married very young, and we have been married for 6 years now! My husband is currently serving active duty in the world's greatest Air Force! He has been so supportive, and I could not be doing this without him. We are currently stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska! I have three beautiful children, one who is in the arms of Jesus, and two who are in ours. I love them all dearly and love being a mother, even with all the ups and downs motherhood throws at you!

When we moved to our first duty station in Delaware, I started working toward my goal at the time, which was to become a neo-natal nurse! My first step in that direction was to become a certified medical assistant. Once that came about, I started working in an OBGYN office and fell in love with it all. Working alongside the doctors and midwives in a small way, compared to what they do, was so life-giving! Seeing GYN patients become pregnant and then getting to care for them throughout pregnancy and postpartum was so amazing. I must have caught the baby fever working there because a couple of years later, I then became pregnant. Once I had my first baby, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. It has been so rewarding to be able to care for my children, love on them, and teach them every day.

Birth has fascinated me in so many ways, and it is so spiritual, rewarding, and just beautiful. I now realize my desire is to come alongside mama's and support them, this is my way of doing so. I believe having babies doesn't have to be scary like the media makes it out to be. It can be empowering, peaceful, and positive! I am ready and eager to help mamas get that type of birth! A birth they desire and deserve! Pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are such vital times in a woman's life, and women deserve to have someone who will support them throughout their journey into motherhood, or when adding more little ones to your family. I hope to be that support for you.
